TIC Project Course

To develop the project, a virtual machine with 2 processors, 4GB of main memory and 25GB for data storage is provided. The operating system is Ubuntu 20.04 LTS with the SSH and VNC servers enabled.

To be able to access this virtual machine, you have to configure a VPN with OpenVPN Connect application as described in How to connect to the platform?

Once you have configured the VPN, you will be able to access the assigned virtual machine using the domain name, username and password provided by the course teacher. The user provided is a privileged user, so its can install other applications or change the configuration of the virtual machine using the “sudo” command.

The name of each virtual machine begins with “vm” followed by a number and “.eps”. For example: “vm1.eps”. You can also access the web services of the virtual machines without the VPN using the name of virtual machine followed by “cloudeps.udl.cat”. For example “vm1.cloudeps.udl.cat”. But ONLY web services can be accessed. For the rest of the services it’s necessary to connect to the VPN.

REMEMBER TO CHANGE THE PASSWORD THE FIRST TIME YOU ACCESS THE VIRTUAL MACHINE WITH THE PASSWD COMMAND!
